Stolen van made strange, slow getaway: Cold Lake RCMP

Mounties in Cold Lake say one man is in custody after a bizarre stolen vehicle incident in the city. The RCMP says on March 5th at 3 pm they were called out after a white work van was stolen in Cold Lake North. The van was later spotted by police driving in slow circles through residential areas.

Mounties let the van make its way to the municipal airport where it got stuck in a snow-filled ditch. Police say that’s when they slapped the cuffs on the 29-year-old driver. Warren Johannesen-Quail now faces nine charges including theft of a motor vehicle. Mounties didn’t release when he would be in court.

Police believe the man was under the heavy influence of drugs during the incident.
