Could be Wednesday before cold warning lifted: Environment Canada

Another blast of Arctic air will make temperatures plain miserable for the next three days for the Lakeland, says Environment Canada. On Sunday night an extreme cold warning was again put into effect for the area.

Windchills are expected to bottom out at a bone-chilling -40 degrees Celsius overnight and into Tuesday. Environment Canada says extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frostbite and hypothermia.

It’s expected relief from the cold will come by Wednesday with temperatures returning to around seasonal averages.
