Lac La Biche hosts oil and gas rally

Another oil and gas rally was held in the Lakeland over the weekend. The “Rally 4 Resources” demonstration at the Bold Centre on Sunday in Lac La Biche was put on by the Region One Aboriginal Business Association. The event is being called one of the first Aboriginal-led demonstrations in support for the oil and gas industry.

The day featured traditional dancing and drum circles. A convoy of trucks was then led around Lac La Biche

The rally again saw calls to the federal government to re-work the proposed changes in Bill C-69. Local political leaders including Lac La Biche County Mayor Omer Moghrabi were in meetings on February 1st with independent senators about the bill.
