On May 31, 2015 at 7:22 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP and emergency services were dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Cold Lake north. A 6 year old boy was struck by a vehicle in a residential area and transported to Cold Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced deceased. RCMP are investigating the collision. Neither speed, alcohol, nor distracted driving appear to be factors in this unfortunate incident.
