One man has been arrested after a 14-hour standoff near Lac La Biche. The RCMP has confirmed that a suspect was taken into custody early Monday afternoon after an incident in the Holowachuk Estates area near Highway 663. Police had been on the scene since about 11 pm Sunday evening after reports of shots being fired in the area.
Mounties say the man was arrested without incident. He has not been named. The RCMP Emergency Response Team was on scene after the man in question had barricaded himself in a home alone. There have been no reports of anyone hurt as of yet.
Traffic is now flowing smoothly again through the area.
