Child was in truck when it was swiped: Cold Lake mounties

Mounties in Cold Lake say a child was in a truck stolen in the city on Wednesday. The RCMP says the truck was stolen at around 8 am from a coffee shop parking lot at 69th Avenue and Highway 28. Thankfully the young child was dropped off at the Cold Lake Hospital just down the road. The suspect fled the area in the truck shortly after.

Police are now looking for the red 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with Alberta license plate number BVR 6949. It has a Tonneau cover and is missing the drivers side mirror. Mounties say the suspect is described as an Indigenous male, about 30 years old with an average build. He was wearing a red jacket and sunglasses.

Any tips can be submitted to the Cold Lake RCMP at 780-594-3302 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Mounties say their investigation continues.
