Chinook used in salvage mission at CLAWR

Drivers on Highway 897 yesterday might have gotten a good look at a large military helicopter getting some work done. 4 Wing Cold Lake says on a Royal Canadian Air Force CH- 147 Chinook helicopter was in the skies over the Air Weapons Range at around 1:30 pm. Its job was to pick up a CH-146 Griffon that was left on the range after what RCAF officials called “an incident” last December.

The big Chinook was only in the skies for about 45 minutes. RCAF officials say the investigation into what happened with the Griffon is still ongoing. They have not released any new details.
