911 tip leads to caller getting arrested

Mounties say a man who called police ended up getting arrested himself in Bonnyville. The RCMP says on January 10th they were called to a local restaurant after a man called 911 claiming an emergency involving weapons. Police arrived and found the caller but couldn’t spot any weapons or trouble.

After a little more digging, mounties say they figured out the man was high on marijuana and actually wanted himself on various warrants from places like Cold Lake and Rocky Mountain House. The 29-year-old from Strathmore now faces an additional charge of public mischief.
