Drainage work coming with 2019 budget in Glendon

Glendon Village Council says the 2019 budget will include money earmarked for drainage. Council has passed its 2019 budget both balanced and without the need for a tax increase from village residents. $3.9 million in work and expenses is expected to happen in the village this year.

Of note, work on both 52nd and 53rd Avenue is expected to be finished up before the year is out. The roads were dug up and new sewer lines were installed in 2018. New gutters, drainage controls and paving are what’s left to do on that project.

Council says it’s taking in about $275,000 in taxes from homeowners along with around $76,000 from commercial and farm dues. The rest of the money is expected to come from the re-vamped ID-349 agreement as well as the MD of Bonnyville Capital Grant.
