Christmas tree recycling returns to Lac La Biche County

Lac La Biche County residents will be able to recycle their natural Christmas trees once again this year.

Until January 11, residents with curbside pickup service can call the Environmental Services department at (780) 623-6739 to have their trees taken and recycled.

Only natural trees are accepted, and trees must not have any tinsel or decorations left on them.

For every natural tree recycled, Lac La Biche County will plant a tree in a local park.

Residents who miss the deadline, or who don’t receive curbside pickup, can bring their trees to any County landfill or transfer station.

Residents with an artificial tree they wish to dispose of may leave them in Reuse Centres if they’re in good condition.

Reuse Centres are found at all County landfills and transfer stations.

Lac La Biche County’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program has been in place for over five years and a total of 96 trees were recycled through the program last year.
