Five arrested after stolen car, drug find

St. Paul mounties say five people from Saddle Lake are facing charges after finding a stolen vehicle. Mounties say the incident started when a report came in of an impaired driver on Highway 29 and Range Road 105. Police say the vehicle in question took off when they attempted to pull it over. Mounties caught up to the vehicle a short time later as it turned into a rural home and became stuck in the snow. All five passengers were arrested.

Police say the vehicle was found to be stolen and a loaded weapon, methamphetamine as well as several knives and other items were located in it. The driver was previously wanted on four different warrants from St. Paul as well as two arrest warrants in Edmonton.

All five face new charges including possession of stolen property and drug possession. All have since been released on bail conditions and are due in St. Paul Provincial Court at the end of January.
