Bonnyville left shovelling after snowfall warning

Many around the Lakeland woke up on Sunday and started shovelling. A low-pressure system that made its way across the province last night, bringing with it a snowfall warning. Snow and heavy winds made their way through our region. Temperatures also took a dip into the dangerous Sunday evening with wind chills pushing lows to the nearly minus 30 mark.

The RCMP says the weather also made driving around the province a little dicey. At around 6 pm last night mounties from Stony Plain said they were dealing with a pile-up that involved 30 cars and trucks.

It doesn’t look like the bite of Jack Frost will last for very long. Environment Canada forecasters say another small warming trend closer to the end of the week could put temperatures in the Lakeland back into the positives.
