18 Year Old Kehewin Man Arrested After Punching Police Dog

An 18 year old man from Kehewin has been arrested after fleeing from police and punching a police dog. The Bonnyville RCMP responded to a call regarding a man believed to be on drugs on May 19th. When they arrived on the scene the man immediately fled into the bushes.

Police, with police dog services, tracked down the man and arrested him, however, the man first punched the police dog twice. The man was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Bonnyville for Possession of Stolen Property, Resist Arrest and Breach of Conditions, along with new charges of Resist Arrest and Cruelty to Animals.

The male was transported to the Bonnyville Hospital where he was cleared for incarceration then transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment.  The male was remanded in custody to appear in Bonnyville court on May 26th, 2015.
