Four people are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Sunday night. At around 7:00 p.m., Lac La Biche RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 858, 5 kilometres north of Plamondon.
A truck with three people inside was heading north on Highway 858 when it and an SUV with five passengers heading south collided head-on.
The driver of the SUV as well as a child suffered serious life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. They were then airlifted to Edmonton. A female passenger and two other children were pronounced dead at the scene. All occupants were from Edmonton.
The driver of the truck and a male passenger from suffered serious life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. A female passenger from Plamondon was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lac La Biche RCMP is continuing to investigate. Police say alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
