Would-be thief may have been run over: Bonnyville mounties

Bonnyville police say they’re still putting the pieces together after a would-be truck thief was run over. Mounties say on December 11th at around 6 pm they were called out to a business at 52nd Ave and 55th Street. Witnesses say a man had attempted to steal a running truck. When the owner of the truck saw what was happening, he jumped into the cab and pushed the suspect out of the door.

Mounties believe the suspect was then run over by the truck. Witnesses say he was able to get up and make his way to a charcoal coloured Ford F150 and make a getaway. The RCMP is looking for anyone who may have information on the crime to come forward. Info can be forwarded to the Bonnyville mounties at 780-343-7200 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
