Lakeland 4-H groups get funding from FCC

Local 4-H groups are enjoying some funding from Farm Credit Canada. The agricultural lending giant had previously pledged $1 million in funding over the last four years to the youth organization. Alberta 4-H clubs received just under $30,000 in that money in 2018.

Among the Lakeland groups that saw some help include the Myrnam 4-H club, St. Paul 4-H Light Horse club and Keyboard Warriors 4-H club in Lac La Biche. The FCC 4-H Club Fund awards up to $500 for a wide range of projects including achievement days, skill-building workshops, field trips, public speaking competitions and the purchase of club supplies.

CEO of 4-H Canada Shannon Benner says the support allows the club to grow and prosper.

“The 4-H movement in Canada continues to thrive through the generosity of visionary partners like FCC, who share the same values and commitment to engaging young leaders at the grassroots level in communities across Canada.”
