Building Alberta signs costing taxpayers

The Alberta government might be celebrating the “Building Alberta” projects with signs posted all across the province, but taxpayers aren’t nearly as amused as the government spent more than a  million dollars on the signs alone.

Documents, obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation through a Freedom of Information request, shows that the cost of signage for the province was 377 per cent higher in 2013 than it was the previous year.

CTF Alberta Director Derek Fildebrandt says the signs are an obvious waste of government money, and the the Wildrose Party wants the Progressive Conservative Party to pay back the costs, claiming that Redford is just using the signs to boost her profile.
