St. Paul County looks at tweaking public pot use

Be careful where you light up in St. Paul County. The county council is currently looking at a public cannabis consumption bylaw that will prohibit it from being smoked in various places. Similar laws have been passed in the town of St. Paul as well as Elk Point, where a blanket law on public cannabis smoking is currently in effect.

Under the current design of the proposed law, smoking would be allowed in a rented dwelling-like scenario such as renting a campsite in the county. Anywhere else outside would be considered a no-go.

Council expects to talk more about the bill and submit it for second and third reading at their December 11th meeting.
