Mounties from Lac La Biche and St. Paul say at least two arrests have been made in connection with stolen vehicles. Police are saying they were near the Beaver Lake-area when they spotted a stolen suv. A police helicopter tracked the suv as it attempted to get away. Police eventually got the vehicle stopped.
Mounties say an investigation then revealed a cabin with more stolen vehicles. As police looked around yet another stolen vehicle was spotted and attempted to flee. Again a police helicopter tracked the vehicle into the brush where it then became stuck. Mounties arrested the driver. The RCMP says a prohibited weapon was also found on the suspect.
A 22-year old man from Beaver Lake and 25-year-old from Lac La Biche both now face charges that include possession of property obtained by a crime. A 30-year-old man wanted on previous warrants was also arrested.
