Melvin will take over BRFA in December

The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority will have a new boss in December. In a release issued on November 14th, the fire department announced that current Regional Deputy Chief Jay Melvin will be named regional fire chief effective December 1st. Melvin has been serving in the deputy role with the fire department since 2012.

The regional fire board says Melvin is the right man for the job.

“The Board is confident that the professionalism, knowledge and experience that Jay has displayed in his role prior with the Authority will be continued in his new position.”

Current Regional Fire Chief Brian McEvoy will stay on the department in an administrative role until he retires in February of 2019.
