Police dog helped track stolen truck suspects

Two men are now in police custody after a stolen vehicle was found in the Frog Lake area. The Elk Point RCMP along with the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit say they were on patrol on November 9th when the spotted a truck that had been stolen from Dewberry. Mounties say they tried to pull it over but it took off. RCMP later found the truck abandoned.

Cold Lake Police Dog Services tracked the suspects down to a neighbouring property. A 24-year-old man from Fishing Lake now faces a variety of charges including possession of stolen property. A 17-year-old was also arrested. Both will stay in police custody and see St. Paul court on November 15th.
