Blue-green Algae advisories lifted as weather shifts

It might not be the nicest time for a dip but blue-green algae worries are over for some Lakeland lakes. Alberta Health Services says the advisory for many lakes has been lifet due to colder temperatures. The Following lakes are no longer considered a health risk:

Lake Isle

Vincent Lake

Moose Lake

Lac La Nonne

Peanut Lake

Floating Stone Lake

Laurier Lake

Steele Cross Lake

Fork Lake

Lac La Biche Lake

Lac Santé

Bonnie Lake

Cold Lake

Goose Lake

Kehewin Lake

Calling Lake

Lac Ste. Anne

As is normal, AHS says don’t drink untreated water from the lakes. Blue-green algae is naturally occurring, and often becomes visible when weather conditions are calm.
