French catholic school board names new superintendent

The Conseil Scolaire Centre-Est school board has named an interim Superintendent. Henri Lemire will take over as head of the local francophone school division. He comes into the job with 20 years experience.

Lemire takes over for former superintendent Marc Dumont. Dumont was asked to step down by parent groups of Ecole du Sommet during protests over the summer. The groups were upset over the treatment of students and the absence of principal Yvan Beaudoin.

Lemire officially started his time as superintendent on October 30th.
