A 16-year old is facing serious charges after a shooting in Saddle Lake. Mounties say the trouble began on October 24th when the young suspect was in a confrontation with a woman at a business. A bystander tried to stop the fight. That’s where the RCMP says the suspect grabbed a firearm from his vehicle and a shot was fired, injuring a man. The man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Mounties found the vehicle and three firearms. The suspect later turned himself in.
The youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Justice Act, will now face charges including assault causing bodily harm and careless use of a firearm. He was released after a hearing and is due back in St. Paul court on November 8th.
