Bobby MCMANN Commits to Colgate University

***PRESS RELEASE from The Bonnyville Pontiacs***

The PONTIACS organization are extremely proud to announce that 1996 born Bonnyville PONTIAC forward Bobby MCMANN has committed to play for the Colgate University RAIDERS for the 2016/17 season. The RAIDERS play in the Division 1 NCAA, ECAC conference and is located in Hamilton, New York.

MCMANN has played two seasons with the PONTIACS and in 105 games he has 39 goals and 38 assists with his best year of Junior A hockey ahead of him. Bobby was named AJHL Player of the Week in February 2015. Bobby was also awarded the PONTIACS “Most Improved Player” award in 2013/14 and the prestigious “President’s Trophy” in 2014/15.

“Bobby is big, strong, highly skilled and difficult to contain. He comes to the rink every single day and works his ‘tail off,’ is a great student and he has high character. You have to be around Bobby every single day to really appreciate the outstanding potential that he has. Colgate University is getting an impact player and person for 2016/17 and I truly believe that he will exceed their expectations as a hockey player and as a human being,” says Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN.

MCMANN becomes the 18th player from the PONTIACS moving on to post-secondary school to play hockey since the beginning of last season which includes eight NCAA Division 1 and two NCAA Division 3 commitments.
