Lac La Biche Mounties on the hunt for man after breaking up chop shop

Mounties in Lac La Biche say they’ve busted a suspected chop shop. Police say on October 16th they executed a search warrant on a property in the Beaver Lake area. Mounties say they found several stolen vehicles as well as a pair of firearms. A pair of trucks stolen from the Bonnyville area were among those found.

A 60-year-old Beaver Lake man now faces several charges including multiple counts of possession of property obtained by a crime. He was released and will see Lac La Biche court on December 3rd.

A second man was arrested on outstanding warrants. The 29-year-old will face charges including breaking and entering in Lac La Biche court on October 29th.

A third suspect related to the crime was able to escape police and is now wanted. Mounties say 25-year-old Derek Gladue took off in a white Cadillac Escalade SUV, nearly hitting a police officer in the process. The RCMP are saying the man is dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with info on his whereabouts is asked to call the Lac La Biche RCMP at 780-404-2500 or Crime Stoppers.
