A weather anomaly tracking across the province may bring a taste of Jack Frost to the Lakeland in early September. Environment Canada says a cool air-mass will bring colder than normal temperatures to most of the province this week. Western places like Grande Prarie and Jasper are bracing for anywhere from 5 to 15 centimetres of snow by Wednesday.

Environment Canada says any snowfall in our area will probably be negligible as the system breaks up crossing the province. It’s not unheard of for the are to see snow. On September 13th, 1970 two centimetres of snow fell, setting the current record.
