Update: Fire Advisory for The MD of Bonnyville

Update from May 5th, 2015 -The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority has lifted portions of the Fire Advisory for The Municipal District of Bonnyville. All previously suspended permits are now active and permits may be issued for light burning.

Light burning includes, burn barrels, grass, hand piled brush piles, etc. Heavy burning permits that are non-essential, such as, windrows, machine piled brush piles, root piles, etc will not be issued until green up occurs.

The fire advisory will remain in place until conditions change. The wildfire hazard for the MD is high. Unseasonably warm temperatures along with strong winds in the forecast mean any wildfires that ignite will be difficult to contain. There will be no burning when winds are greater than 15KM/hr

Check the back of fire permits before burning to ensure conditions are right for a safe burn.
