Frog Lake opens new fire hall

Frog Lake has a brand-new fire hall. The new hall features around 7,000 square feet of room. The expanded space will allow crews to provide shorter response times. More emergency equipment can also be housed in the building.

Minister of Indigenous Services Canada Jane Philpott was on hand for the opening.

“Investing in fire safety and reliable infrastructure on reserve are shared priorities that I am pleased to see all partners working on together. The Government of Canada is pleased to work with Frog Lake First Nation in the construction of their new fire hall, and I congratulation them on the completion of this project.”

Indigenous Services Canada invested around $2.3 million in the firehall. The Frog Lake First Nation currently has a fleet of three fire trucks.
