Child Mind testing if they can meet extended demand

The Cold Lake Energy Centre’s Child Mind is extending its hours come September.

The centre says the will be trying out the extended hours to not only see if there is demand for longer hours but also to see if staff can sustain the service.

Mayor Craig Copeland said in a statement that they have had a lot of demand to extend the hours of the program, but ultimately whether or not the program’s extension is permanent will be if its sustainable

. He adds that the hours could help parents actually get their kids to the program, and will be at a time when most gym programming is happening.

The centre’s daycare program runs Monday to Thursday is open to children 4-8 years old and can hold 18 kids during a session. The extended hours will begin September 10th and run until later December.
