410 squadron welcomes new commander

The fighter training squadron at CFB Cold Lake has a new leader. 410 Tactical Fighter Operational Training Squadron welcomed new commander Lieutenant-Colonel James Kettles in a ceremony held last week. Kettles is no stranger to CFB Cold Lake with four previous postings at the base.

Kettles takes over for Lieutenant-Colonel Seane Doell who had been commander of the 410 “Cougars” since July 2016. He had recently been serving at NATO school in Oberammergau, Germany. The school is described as ” NATO’s key training facility on the operational level.”

410 Squadron has been training Royal Canadian Air Force pilots on the CF-18 Hornet since 1982.
