AHS says stay away from Camper’s Beach water

Alberta Health Services is urging the public to stay out of the water at a popular beach on Lac La Biche. In a release issued today, AHS says the water at Camper’s Beach, located in Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park at the lake, has tested high for levels of levels of fecal coliforms. At current levels, they say a person might develop skin, ear and eye infections from contact with the water.

Visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir at any time. AHS says they will continue to monitor the lake. The advisory will remain in place until conditions improve.
