A 12-hour standoff with police on Beaver Lake Cree Nation ended early this morning. RCMP say they were called to reports of a man shooting at a home around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and Police Dog Services helped track the suspect down to a home on Range Road 151.

Police surrounded the area, and the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team was brought in. The 37-year-old suspect was taken into custody at 2:45 a.m. Friday and charges are pending.
