***PRESS RELEASE FROM THE BONNYVILLE PONTIACS***

The Bonnyville PONTIACS are very proud to announce that twenty-year-old defenseman Cody FIALA has made a commitment to play for the University of Alberta Augustana VIKINGS for 2015/16.

The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan product played three seasons of Junior A and was acquired early in the season from the Drumheller DRAGONS. FIALA played 157 games scoring 31 points, 13 of which were with the Bonnyville PONTIACS in 2014/15.

“Cody made a huge impact for the Bonnyville PONTIACS and immediately became an emotional leader for our hockey team. Cody is a player who gives everything he has for every game and every practice. As a leader he is not afraid to hold others accountable for ‘being at their best’ and he holds those same standards for himself. He is a physical presence that simply made our hockey team better. Cody also was a great person and a great citizen in our community,” says Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN. “His character will be extremely difficult to replace and he was a pleasure to work with.”

The Bonnyville PONTIACS, our fans and our community are extremely happy for Cody and wish him the very best of luck in his academic and hockey future with the U of A Augustana VIKINGS.
