A man from Saddle Lake who was wanted on prior charges has been arrested. RCMP say St. Paul mounties were working with the new Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit when they finally tracked down a suspect who was wanted on charges stemming back to May.
On July 30th police say they found the man hiding near a home in Saddle Lake. Mounties say the man also had a sawed-off rifle, a variety of narcotics and a truck originally stolen from Vegreville among other illegal items.
The 39-year-old is now facing several new charges that include possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic. He’ll stay in police custody and see St. Paul court on August 2nd.
