RCMP are saying the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a man’s death after an incident involving members of the St. Paul RCMP detachment. Police say early this morning they responded to a complaint from a hotel in St. Paul. Mounties say they found a man who they believe was breaking windows.
Mounties then say a physical altercation took place between the suspect and officers. The man became unresponsive during the struggle and was taken to hospital. Officials from the RCMP are saying the man has died.
One officer was treated for minor injuries and was released from hospital.
Police say ASIRT is now investigating the circumstances of the incident. RCMP says their investigation is continuing.
