Mike Allen the MLA caught in a prostitution sting in St Paul Minnesota has now pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor following his July arrest.
Allen, the MLA for Fort McMurray – Wood Buffalo Alberta was in Minnesota on government business was originally charged with soliciting a prostitute but was offered a plea deal that reduced the charge to a misdemeanor offence.
Allen resigned from the Progressive Conservative caucus the day after the arrest, but has remained in the legislature sitting as an independent.
