Mounties team up to arrest wanted man in Saddle Lake

A man wanted on a few outstanding warrants is now in police custody after an operation by a specialty unit of the RCMP. Police are saying on July 11th mounties from the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit raided a home in Saddle Lake with the hopes to find a man wanted on charges going back to 2015.

The 32 year old man from Athabasca county was found in the basement of the home and arrested without incident. Mounties say they also found a vehicle at the home containing drugs and ammunition inside of it.

The man now faces new charges including flight from police and possession of a controlled substance. He’ll stay in police custody and see St. Paul court on July 26th. The man will also face Athabasca court on Aug 7th.
