Bonnyville RCMP Seize Drugs and Cash from local residents

A Bonnyville  man and woman will be making a court a appearance in January.

On the evening of December 17th, 2013, an RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop for a Traffic Safety Violation with a lone male driver. As a result of observations made by the officer, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation ensued and a search warrant was drafted for a residence in the Sportsman Trailer Court.

As a result of the search warrant, Police located $2200 in Canadian currency, cell phones, 900 grams of Marijuana. The street value of the drugs seized was approximately $18,000. The 31 year old driver, and 27 year old female located inside the residence stand charged with several drug related offences; as well, stand charged with an offence under the Child Endangerment Act, as Police also located a 22 month year old child inside the residence. Child and Family services were called to assess the welfare of the child and their investigation continues.

The male and female adult were held before a bail hearing and released on $20,000 cash bail.
