St. Paul mounties say warrant bust led to meth, weapon

Mounties in St. Paul are saying the arrest of a man on outstanding warrants also turned up some new charges. On July 4th, St. Paul RCMP teamed up with the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit to find a 40-year- old Saddle Lake man who was wanted on previous warrants.

Mounties say they found the man in a home in Saddle Lake, but he tried to escape into the woods. RCMP caught the man shortly after. Police are saying a search also turned up methamphetamine and a sawed off shotgun with ammunition.

The man now faces charges including possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a controlled substance. He is due in St. Paul Court on July 12th.
