The St. Paul Fire Department says they have the right man for the job. Henry Thomson has been named Deputy Fire Chief, the first full-time for the department. The job was posted after the town and county of St. Paul, as well as Elk Point, deemed it necessary.

Thomson has plenty of experience with the department, serving 23 years so far as a firefighter. He was Chief Officer for the department for the last six years. One of his new jobs will be to help with training between the departments in the county.

Thomson will begin his new role on August 13th.
