RCMP in Cold Lake still looking to name shoplifter

Mounties in Cold Lake are still looking for help getting a name of a shoplifter who stole from a charitable organization. Police are saying on May 16th at around 7 pm a female shopper entered the Sobeys Liquor Store in Cold Lake and proceeded to pick out an item and head to the till. RCMP Sergeant Ryan Howrish says it looked like any other purchase until the clerk turned around to make change.

“The clerk was distracted. There was a Lakeland Humane Society donation box on the counter. She took that and she walked out of the store with it.”

It’s not know how much was in the Lakeland Humane Society donation box. The woman is not known to police. SGT. Howrish says just a name can help turn a wrong into a right in this case.

“I have no idea who this woman is but I’m certainly hoping members of the public will recognize her.”
