Lakeland under heat warning as temperatures soar for the next few days

Sunshine and warm temperatures have Environment Canada issuing a heat warning for the Lakeland and most of Northern Alberta. Maximum daily temperatures are expected to keep above the plus 29-degree range for the work week.

Environment Canada is reminding us to consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day. Take frequent breaks from the heat, spending time indoors at your house or at cooled public buildings. They also stress drinking plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated.

Officials are also asking you to remember your pets and smaller children when it comes to your cars. Do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle, for any length of time.
