Don’t panic, it’s just Exercise Maple Flag: 4 Wing

With Exercise Maple Flag gearing up at 4 Wing cold Lake this week, the base is reminding the public that with practice comes noise. CFB Cold Lake is host to multiple nations this week training at the air weapons range. The base is reminding everyone that when something like this goes on, the public around the City of Cold Lake can expect to hear and see some things they might not be used to.
4 Wing says a variety of different aircraft will be seen and heard in the skies in the next week. They’re also reminding the public that security will be tighter around the base. Included in the security measures will be armed military personnel manning gates into the base. Base officials say they aren’t trying to scare anyone, but just trying to provide a secure space for the exercise to take place.
