Lakeland MP sees rural crime motion passed in house of commons

Shannon Stubbs knows that rural crime has to be stopped. The Lakeland MP recently saw her motion passed in the House of Commons. Motion 167 calls for the Standing Committee on Public Safety to have a look at trends and statistics when it comes to rural crime and asses the countries needs to help fight it. Stubbs had originally brought the motion to the table in early February

The motion needed a majority to move forward. Last Wednesday, Stubbs received unanimous support from the house. The Standing Committee will now take six months to gather information about rural crime. One way they hope to gather information is to talk to residents that have been affected. Stubbs is grateful for the support the motion has received, especially from opposition members.
