Cold Lake Mounties say they have suspect in break and enter on CLFN

RCMP from Cold Lake are saying they’ve caught a man for reportedly breaking and entering at a home in the Cold Lake First Nations. Police say on May 28th at around 10 pm they were called to the nation after a complaint of a break and enter. Cold Lake RCMP Staff Sergeant Jeremie Landry says the call was quite serious as the suspect reportedly had a weapon.

“An individual had broken a window and entered the home. He was armed with a bat. He then fled the residence in a silver SUV.”

It was in that silver SUV that Cold Lake mounties say were able to find the suspect after it had run out of gas. SSGT. Landrie says it doesn’t look like the homeowner was connected to the suspect in any way.

“He was not known to the occupants of the residence. He was linked to the crime based on the description of the vehicle he fled in. As well, the weapon that was used was seized.”
