Notre Dame High School Continues to Offer French Immersion

Notre Dame High School in Bonnyville will offer its French Immersion Program. After some staffing changes at Notre Dame some parents and community members were concerned that the French Immersion Program would no longer be offered to students.

Pamela Guilbault, Principal at Notre Dame High School wants to re-assure the public that is not the case stating, “although there’s been some misinformation in the community surrounding whether or not Notre Dame High will be offering  French Immersion in the future, I can unequivocally say absolutely, yes we are!” Guilbault notes that not only is the program offered, but it is one of the best in the area, “we are confident that we can offer a quality program, and deliver a quality French Immersion Program to all Notre Dame High School students.”

Principal Guilbault says if anyone is interested in learning more about the program or any of the studies offered at Notre Dame, they are welcome to stop by the school or call her at 780-826-3245. Guilbault says she’d be happy to “spend some time with anyone interested, tour the school, and give you the specific details of the French Immersion Program.”

Notre Dame High School is part of The Lakeland Catholic School District, which offers French Immersion at all their schools. In Bonnyville students can begin at the pre-school level with a light introduction to french and continue through all their studies by starting at Notre Dame Elementary. Student would then graduate to Dr. Brosseau Middle School, followed by Notre Dame High School with full French Immersion Programming offered.
