The City of Cold Lake is still working away on twinning a section of Highway 28. More construction will be seen in the summer months as the city works on the highway from 43 Avenue to the 50th Avenue intersection. The original project began in 2016.
“We are past the largest phases of this project and we would like to thank the public for being very understanding,” Mayor Craig Copeland said. “Accommodating work in and around a major intersection is always a challenge, but this project is nearing completion and it will be well worth the wait. The main priority is to ensure that workers and motorists are safe while the project finishes up – some traffic delays will be necessary to make sure that is the case.”
The project also included utility updates near the Veterans Avenue intersection. The city is reminding drivers to slow down and expect some delays as crews work. More information on the progress of the project is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
