Cold Lake mounties laying charges after police vehicle hit

RCMP in Cold Lake are laying over 60 charges after an incident that saw a police vehicle rammed on the Elizabeth Metis Settlement. On May 21st at around 3:15 pm, mounties say they tried to pull over a stolen vehicle on the settlement but it took off. Police decided not to give chase due to public safety concerns.

Later on police say they found the vehicle at the end of a dead end road. Mounties say the car rammed the front of one of their cruisers before finally coming to a stop. Two suspects were arrested at the scene while two others fled and were later caught.

Four people from Edmonton, Peace River and Wetaskiwin are facing around 63 criminal charges including stolen property, drugs and weapon offences. Three are expected in Cold Lake Provincial Court on June 13th while one suspect will be in Edmonton on June 6th.
