Mounties are trying to put the pieces together after a woman was killed on the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement. Police are saying on May 19th at around noon they were called out to the settlement where they found a female dead at the scene. Mounties from Elk Point as well as the RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are currently investigating.
An autopsy on the woman will be conducted in Edmonton this week. Meanwhile, 27 year old Marc Jess from the Fishing Lake Metis settlement has been arrested and charged with first degree murder. He’s due in St. Paul Provincial Court on May 31st.
